    The essay reconstructs the problematic relationship between Augusto Del Noce’s thought and historicism, with particular reference to the transpolitical interpretation of contemporary history. The author starts from the observation that historicism is an immanent problem of modern philosophical thought in its totality, rather than a trait characterizing a particular manifestation of it. Del Noce (unlike Croce) did not at all believe that historical materialism had ended its drive in the first half of the twentieth century, but that it has covered it - underground - in its entirety, and that the transpolitical interpretation of contemporary history is mainly the stressing of the idea of revolution not only in its political repercussions, as long as it is the historical-philosophical «essence» of the twentieth century.

    Il saggio ricostruisce il problematico rapporto fra il pensiero di Augusto Del Noce e lo storicismo, con particolare riferimento all’interpretazione transpolitica della storia contemporanea. L’Autore muove dalla costatazione per la quale lo storicismo sia un problema immanente al pensiero filosofico moderno nella sua totalità, più che un tratto caratterizzante una sua particolare manifestazione. Del Noce (diversamente da Croce) non ritenne affatto che il materialismo storico avesse concluso la sua spinta nella prima metà del Novecento, bensì che esso lo abbia percorso – sotterraneamente – per intero, e che l’interpretazione transpolitica della storia contemporanea sia la messa in questione dell’idea di rivoluzione non solo nelle sue ricadute politiche, ma che essa sia l’«essenza» storico-filosofica del XX secolo.
