En el presente artículo tratamos de conocer los efectos que hicieron que el lugar de Torredelcampo (Jaén) pasara, en un lapsus de treinta años, de ser un sitio próspero a mediados de siglo XVII a terminar a un estado de decadencia tal, que hizo que su Concejo solicitase al Administrador y Superintendente General de las Reales Rentas (amén de Corregidor y Justicia Mayor de Jaén) para que, éste, transigiese o minorase los débitos atrasados del servicio ordinario y ejecutorio de Milicias de dicho lugar. Finalmente, aportamos las posibles causas que dieron lugar a esos efectos.

In this article we try to know the effects that made the place of Torredelcampo (Jaén) go, in a lapse of thirty years, from being a prosperous site in the mid-seventeenth century to ending in a state of such decline, that it made its Council requested the Administrator and General Superintendent of the Royal Rents (in addition to the Corregidor and Justicia Mayor de Jaén) so that, it, would compromise or reduce the late debts of the ordinary and executive service of the Militias of said place. Finally, we provide the possible causes that gave rise to these effects.
