Resumen de Lo sublime en Piedra de Sol

  Este artículo analiza los componentes de sublimidad en el poema extenso de Octavio Paz Piedra de sol. Partiendo de los códigos de interpretación que nos ofrecen el tratado Perí hýpsous (Sobre lo sublime) de Pseudo-Longino (siglo I) y A Philosophical Enquiry into the Origin of our Ideas of the Sublime and Beautiful de Edmund Burke (1757), se estudia la sublimidad tanto en la concepción del texto –su nacimiento y su estructura– como en las numerosas imágenes que lo vertebran.

  This article analyzes the components of sublimity in Octavio Paz’s long poem, Piedra de sol. Using the codes of interpretation offered by Pseudo-Longinus’ Perí hýpsous (On Sublimity) and Edmund Burke’s A Philosophical Enquiry into the Origin of our Ideas of the Sublime and Beautiful (1757), I study the sublime constituents of the text that concern both the way it was conceived and structured, and the numerous images that serve as its backbone.
