La pandemia por COVID-19 como acontecimiento: una revisión crítica del enfoque posmarxista

    Este artículo tiene por objeto estudiar la pandemia por COVID-19 como ejemplo del uso, por parte de la teoría posmarxista, del concepto de acontecimiento. El contenido del ensayo se estructuró en tres partes: 1) la apropiación del concepto de acontecimiento por el pensamiento posmarxista; 2) la pandemia como acontecimiento posmarxista; y 3) la pandemia virtual. Como resulta obvio, el marco referencial de este trabajo exige un concepto de acontecimiento, que aquí se define como un evento imprevisible, sin explicación histórica, pero que sí podría explicar el futuro: aunque de forma limitada. Por un tiempo el acontecimiento posmarxista se buscó en las contradicciones del capitalismo que se seguían manifestando en crisis periódicas. Se creyó que la de 2008 sería su epítome. Pero esa crisis no alcanzó el carácter de acontecimiento. La pandemia por COVID-19 comparte algunos de los rasgos del acontecimiento inscrito en la biopolítica.

    This essay studies the COVID‑19 pandemic as an instance of the concept of the event used by post-Marxist thought. Due to this premise, the article presents three sections: 1) the event concept in the post-Marxist thinking, 2) the COVID‑19 pandemic as a post-Marxist event, and 3) the pandemic as a virtual event. Such an essay requires a concept of the event. It is defined in this context as a phenomenon without causal explanation but with the capacity to explain, at least partially, the future it creates. For a while after the end of the Cold War, it was thought that the event would be the result of capitalism's prevalent crisis.

    The 2008 financial crisis meant to be its point of no return. But this crisis did not reach the event condition. The COVID‑19 pandemic shares some features of the event framed into the biopolitics.
