El sentimiento de soledad y su relación con la ideación suicida en estudiantes universitarios

    La presente investigación tiene como objetivo general analizar si el sentimiento de soledad tiene relación con la ideación suicida a través de la aplicación de dos instrumentos que permitan determinar estrategias que ayuden a fortalecer la salud emocional de los jóvenes a través de programas de prevención. Se trató de un estudio cuantitativo descriptivo transversal y se utilizó una muestra constituida por 106 universitarios con edades que iban desde los 18 hasta los 35 y pertenecientes a los 10 diferentes programas educativos. Los instrumentos fueron UCLA Loneliness Scale Version 3, y el Inventario de Ideación Suicida de Beck. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que no existe una correlación entre la variable sentimiento de soledad e ideación suicida,sin embargo, se percibió que un 60.4% de los jóvenes encuestados presentó sentimiento de soledad en una incidencia regular y el 26.4% en frecuencia alta. Por otro lado, el 69.8% indicó no presentar ideación suicida, sin embargo, el 21.7% presentó una frecuencia regular ante la ideación.

    The present research had the general objective of analyzing whether the feeling of loneliness is related to suicidal ideation through the application of two instruments that allow determining strategies that help strengthen the emotional health of young people through prevention programs. It was a cross-sectional descriptive quantitative study and a sample consisting of 106 university students with ages ranging from 18 to 35 and belonging to the 10 different educational programs was used. The instruments were UCLA Loneliness Scale Version 3. The other was the Beck Suicidal Ideation Inventory. The results obtained show that there is no correlation between the variable feeling of loneliness and suicidal ideation, however, it was perceived that 60.4% of the young people surveyed presented a feeling of loneliness in a regular incidence and 26.4% in a high frequency. On the other hand, 69.8% indicated that they did not present suicidal ideation, however, 21.7% indicated the opposite in a regular frequency.
