  Este trabajo tiene como objetivo principal revisar la información que se puede obtener a partir del examen de las huellas dactilares, más allá de la identificación por la lectura e interpretación de sus características clásicas. Desde el perfil genético, pasando por la detección de material exógeno, la diferenciación de gemelos, la detección de enfermedades, la determinación del sexo...y mucho más. Teniendo en cuenta siempre, las limitaciones de cada estudio.

  The main objective of this work is to review the information that can be obtained from the examination of fingerprints, beyond identification by reading and interpreting their classic characteristics. From the genetic profile, through the detection of exogenous material, the differentiation of twins, the detection of diseases, the determination of sex ... and much more. Always bearing in mind the limitations of each study.
