  Este trabajo intenta comprender las características del comercio informal en el Centro Histórico de la ciudad de Zacatecas, Zacatecas, en México, sus relaciones conflictivas con el comercio formal y el rol de las autoridades municipales. El valor turístico nacional e internacional del lugar, está condicionado por el mantenimiento de los estándares establecidos por la UNESCO, por lo cual las autoridades tienen que regular el comercio informal, con el fin de conservar la imagen del sitio, la calidad de los servicios, seguridad, higiene y limpieza, trato a los turistas y al público en general. Pero el comercio informal en el Centro Histórico es una manera de sobrevivir, y el gobierno municipal tiene que lidiar con esa realidad, llevando a cabo medidas de control, a través de empadronamientos para el cobro de cuotas y otros aspectos regulatorios, lo que se combina con la necesidad de proteger a los comerciantes, a cambio de apoyo político. Es un comercio informal reconocido y regulado a nivel municipal.

  This written attempts to understand the informal trade features in the Zacatecas Historical Centre, in Zacatecas, Mexico, its troubled relationship with the formal trade and the role of the municipal government. The national and international turist value of this site, is conditioned for the keeping of the standars lay down the UNESCO, cause for which the authorities must regulate the informal trade, with the purpose of preserve the image of the site, the quality of services, safety, hygiene and cleaneliness, manner to tourists and the public. But the informal trade in the Historical Centre is a way of survive, and the municipal government must deal with these reality, carring out measures of control, through the registering for the collection fees and another regulatory aspects, which combines with the necessity to protect the businessmen, in exchange for politics support. It’s an informal trade recognised at municipal level.
