La contribución quiere investigar la influencia de España y de su reina, Isabel de Farnesio, en la política napolitana en los años 1734-1746. Isabel llevó las riendas del mando imponiendo su voluntad al rey Felipe V y luchó detenidamente para realizar sus ambiciones maternas en provecho de su hijo Carlos, que en 1734 había llegado a ser rey de Nápoles y de Sicilia. Las relaciones de dependencia política entre Nápoles y Madrid estaban caracterizadas por un estrecho control ejercido por la Corte española sobre la napolitana. Y las expectativas de independencia efectiva del Reyno eran obstaculizadas por la tutela fuerte que Isabel ejercía sobre el hijo a través los ministros, fieles ejecutores de sus mandos. Esta sumisión disminuyó después de la batalla de Velletri (1742) y acabó en 1746: la muerte de Felipe V coincidió con el fin del poder de Isabel de Farnesio, protagonista del panorama político europeo y mediterráneo de la primera parte del siglo XIX.

The paper focuses on the influence of Spain and his queen, Isabel de Farnesio, in the Neapolitan policy in the years 1734-1746. Isabel assumed the reins of command imposing his will to King Philip V and struggled with determination to realize her maternal ambitions for the benefit of his son Charles, who became in 1734 the king of Naples and Sicily. The relationship of political dependence that linked Naples to Madrid were characterized by tight control exercised by the Spanish Court on the Neapolitan. And the hopes of the effective independence of the Kingdom were hampered by suffocating protection that the Queen required on the child through the ministers, faithful executors of his will. This subjection was diminished after the battle of Velletri (1742) and ended in 1746: the death of Philip V determined the end of the power of Isabel de Farnesio, protagonist of the European and Mediterranean politics of the early Eighteenth Century.
