Curricularização das Relações Étnico-raciais em uma Faculdade de Odontologia

    O estudo objetivou verificar a presença da temática étnico-racial no Curso de Graduação em Odontologia, visando identificar abordagens sobre as Relações Étnico-Raciais e da Saúde da População Negra no Projeto Pedagógico e nos conteúdos da matriz curricular do curso. A Metodologia baseou-se num estudo documental, de caráter exploratório, qualitativo, sustentado pelas recomendações das Diretrizes Curriculares para as Relações Étnico-Raciais, Política de Saúde Integral da População Negra e Diretrizes Curriculares para o Curso de Odontologia. A pesquisa se limitou à análise crítica de documentos de um curso graduação em Odontologia em Alagoas. Os dados foram coletados entre fevereiro e abril de 2018, utilizando uma matriz instrumental a partir das categorias: Explicitação das Relações Étnico-Raciais e a Saúde da População Negra nos Fundamentos e Justificativas para a Formação do Cirurgião dentista; A Dimensão étnico-racial afrobrasileiro nos objetivos; Habilidades e Competências; Relações Étnico-Raciais na Organização e no conteúdo. Os dados foram analisados na perspectiva de análise de conteúdo. Existe um silenciamento acerca das relações Étnico-Raciais no Projeto Pedagógico nos fundamentos e justificativas, nos objetivos e competências para a formação e nas abordagens dos conteúdos. A instituição possui aspectos na organização do curso e matriz curricular que permitem integralizar essa temática transversalmente.

    The aim of this study was to verify the presence of ethnic-racial themes in the undergraduate course in dentistry, in order to identify approaches on ethnic-racial relations and health of the Black population in the pedagogical project and in the contents of the curricular matrix of the course. The methodology was based on a documentary study, exploratory and qualitative, supported by the recommendations of the Curricular Guidelines for Ethnic-Racial Relations, Black Population Comprehensive Health Policy and Curricular Guidelines for the Dentistry Course. The research was limited to the critical analysis of documents of an undergraduate course in dentistry in Alagoas. Data were collected between February and April 2018, using an instrumental matrix from the following categories: Explicit Ethnic-Racial Relations and Black Population Health in the Fundamentals and Justifications for the Training of the Dental Surgeon; The Afro-Brazilian ethnoracial dimension in the objectives; Skills and Skills; Ethnic-Racial Relations in Organization and Content. The data were analyzed from a content analysis perspective. There is a silencing of ethnicracial relations in the pedagogical project in the fundamentals and justifications, in the objectives and competences for the formation and in the approaches of the contents. The institution has aspects in the organization of the course and curricular matrix that allow to integrate this theme transversally.
