El objetivo central de este ensayo es, precisamente, tratar de comprender esas agresiones a Borinquen, incluyéndolas en la batalla geopolítica que convirtió a los dominios españoles en este lado del Atlántico en una zona de guerra, en un pandemoniun en el cual los franceses, portugueses, holandeses e ingleses (y en menor escala, los daneses) trataron de arrancar tierras, mercados y riquezas a la Corona española.

The main objective of this essay is to try to understand the aggressions to Borinquen. These aggressions have been included in the geopolitical battle that turned the Spanish domains of these side of the Atlantic into a war zone; into a pandemonium where the French, Portuguese, Dutch, English and a little less the Danish tried to grab the lands, markets and wealth of the Spanish Crown.
