Resumen de Lectura y escritura hacia la poesía: el diario de Rafael Pombo en Nueva York

El escritor colombiano Rafael Pombo redacta un Diario entre el 3 de agosto de 1855 y 5 de mayo de 1856 en Nueva York cuando a los veintidós años viaja como agregado diplomático en calidad de Secretario de la Legación Colombiana en los Estados Unidos a cargo de Pedro Alcántara Herrán.
El Diario expresa la necesidad de romper con la referencialidad que representa la sociedad y reconstruir la dinámica que vive el yo insatisfecho y romántico. Así el Diario expone la consolidación del yo en dos ámbitos: el de lo público, en la manera como busca ingresar al horizonte cultural, letrado, en la identificación con las voces de los otros; y en el de lo privado, en las diversas formas de reconocimiento de sus propios sentimientos y emociones. Aquí radica uno de los intereses mayores del breve texto de Pombo, que será desarrollado en el presente artículo: La presentación de cómo estos dos actos en tensión, mediados por la escritura del yo y la ruptura con la realidad, le habilitan el desplazamiento hacia la escritura poética.

The Colombian writer Rafael Pombo writes a Diary from 3 August 1855 to 5 may, 1856 in New York. When he was twenty-two years old, he travels as a diplomatic attaché as a Secretary of the Colombian Legation in the United States in charge of Pedro Alcántara Herrán.
The Diary expresses the necessity of breaking with the preferentiality that represents the society and build the dynamic in which the self- unsatisfied and romantic lives. Thus, the Diary exposes the consolidation of the self into two ways; the public, due to the path it seeks to get in the cultural, literate horizon in favor of 16 others voice identification; and the private, because of the various ways of recognition of their own feelings and emotions. Therefore, this is the main interest of this Pombo’s brief text that is going to be developed in the present article. The representation of how these two acts in tension, leading by the self-writing and the rupture with the reality, allows him to move towards poetry writing.
