Desde un punto de vista criminológico, el estudio de los asesinatos masivos es vital para intentar comprender las características propias que identifican a estos individuos. Así, debido a las actuaciones tan violentas que llevan a cabo para cometer los crímenes, los asesinos en masa se muestran diferentes al resto de delincuentes. Esta investigación se centra en el estudio de diversos sucesos ocurridos en España, los cuales sirven de referencia para poder identificar los elementos clave de estos sujetos, llegando a crear una tipología de este prototipo de criminales. Por otro lado, al igual que sucede con los asesinos en serie, la investigación de los asesinos en masa que actuaron en el territorio nacional también es útil para poder señalar las principales fases por las que atraviesan estos sujetos

From a criminological point of view, the study of mass murders is vital to try to understand the characteristics that identify these individuals.
Therefore, due to the violent actions that carry out to commit the crimes, mass murderers are different from the rest of the delinquents. This research focuses on the study of the several events that occurred in Spain, which can identify these subjects’ key elements, creating a typology of this prototype of criminals. On the other hand, just like what happened with serial killers, the investigation of mass murderers who acted in the national territory is also useful to be able to indicate the main phases through which these subjects pass.
