    El presente artículo tiene como objetivo fundamental analizar el tratamiento que se le da a la psique del artista y al proceso creativo a finales del siglo XIX. La relación de estos dos elementos hace que se promuevan una serie de valores en torno al artista y su obra que estarán presentes, ya no solo en el panorama artístico de su momento, sino que influirá a los artistas del siglo XX y XXI. Como representación de estas teorías nos centraremos en dos obras:

    Degeneración de Max Nordau y Los raros de Rubén Darío, como muestras antagónicas de la forma de vincular al artista con el arte, el proceso creativo, la genialidad y la locura

    The main objective of this article is analyze the psyche treatmen of the artist and the creative process at the end of the 19th century. The relationship of these two elements promotes a series of values around the artist and their work that will be presents, not only in the artistic panorama of his time, but will influence the artists of the 20th and 21st century. As a representation of these theories, we will focus on two works: Max Nordau’s Degeneration and Rubén Darío’s Rare, two antagonistic examples of how to link the artist with art, the creative process, genius and madness.
