Isabella Balestreri, Aurora Scotti Tosini
With this essay we are identifying three drawings kept in the Ambrosiana Library’s code F 251 inf as a project for the restyling of the main chapel of Sant’Ildefonso’s church in Zamora. Our historical analysis proves that the drawings could be dated back to 1608-1610 and they could have been sketched by the young Francesco Maria Ricchino. Our study of sources ascribes the project commissioner to the Governor of Milano’s State, Pedro Enríquez de Acevedo Count of Fuentes, whose artistic and architectural patronage has not been explored enough, instead the Count’s role has been really crucial in the Milan Early Baroque.
