    En “El legado”, uno de sus últimos poemas, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe sintetiza su posición frente a preguntas fundamentales: el sentido del ser, la verdad, Dios, el alma, la ética y el papel que desempeñan los sentidos y la capacidad de observación de la naturaleza para el desarrollo de la ciencia. En este artículo, el médico y psiquiatra Otto Dörr hace un análisis hermenéutico de sus estrofas, a través del cual intenta sacar a la luz la sabiduría que encierra este poema. Además muestra de qué manera Goethe se adelantó a muchos desarrollos posteriores de la filosofía, como los de Husserl, Heidegger y Lévinas.

    In “The Legacy”, one of his last poems, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe summarizes his position on fundamental questions: the reason for being, truth, God, the soul, ethics and the role played by the senses and the capability of observing nature for the development of science. In this article, the physician and psychiatrist Otto Dörr undertakes an explanatory analysis of its stanzas, through which he tries to bring to light the wisdom incorporated in this poem. He also shows us how Goethe was clearly ahead of many subsequent developments of philosophy, such as those of Husserl, Heidegger and Levinas.
