    Esta contribución trata de exponer un conjunto de reflexiones, dudas y preguntas, para debatir, sobre la dimensión demográfica actual de la frontera en el área de Castilla y León. Del mismo modo expone de forma resumida cuales han sido las claves para abordar estrategias de desarrollo regional con el Patrimonio, los recursos culturales y el turismo como agentes de desarrollo regional, en un espacio geográfico donde las tendencias demográficas y los niveles de renta no parecen haber cambiado mucho en los últimos veinticinco años.

    ¿Por qué los resultados de todas estas acciones con financiación europea e iniciativas empresariales no están en consonancia con el comportamiento real de la población joven que continúa emigrando sin repoblar este territorio de borde? ¿Por qué sigue siendo un territorio donde no permanece la población activa ni se ve como un destino real de vida y permanencia?

    This contribution tries to expose a set of reflections, doubts and questions, to debate, on the demographic current dimension of the border in the area of Castilla y León. In the same way it tries to expose which have been the keys to approach strategies of regional development with the Heritage, the cultural resources and the tourism as agents of regional development, in a geographical space where the demographic trends and the levels of revenue do not seem to have changed greatly in the last twenty-five years.

    Why the results of all these actions with financing of European and managerial Initiatives are not with the real behavior of the young population constantly emigrating without repopulating this territory of edge? Why this land of border continues not being a territory where the active population understands it as a real destination of life and permanency?
