Apolinar Sánchez fue un anticuario establecido en Madrid que durante la primera mitad del siglo XX trabajó para los principales coleccionistas del país. Entre sus clientes se hallaba el norteamericano Charles Deering, José Lázaro Galdiano o Félix Pozo. Junto a ellos también mantuvo contactos con instituciones como el Museo del Prado o el Museo Arqueológico Nacional. También fue coleccionista y prestó piezas a la Exposición Internacional de Barcelona (1929) y a los certámenes organizados por la Sociedad Española de Amigos del Arte. Este estudio pretende aproximarse a su figura y a su actividad, fundamental para la creación de las colecciones públicas y privadas españolas entre 1900 y 1950.

Apolinar Sánchez was an antique dealer based in Madrid who during the first half of the 20th century had commercial relations with the main collectors of Spain. Among his clients were personalities such as the American Charles Deering, José Lázaro Galdiano and Félix Pozo. He also had contacts with the most important artistic institutions such as the Museo del Prado and the National Archaeological Museum. In his role as a collector he lent pieces to the Barcelona International Exposition (1929) and the exhibitions organized by the Sociedad Española de Amigos del Arte. This paper wants to bring new information about Apolinar Sánchez, a key figure for the creation of public and private collections in Spain during 1900 and 1950.
