    El concepto de calidad de vida engloba la evaluación de aspectos tanto físicos como psicológicos y sociales, sin obviar en ningún momento el cuadro sintomático que el individuo padece debido a su enfermedad.

    Las definiciones actuales ponen de manifiesto criterios que afirman que la calidad de vida se refiere a una evaluación subjetiva del individuo, con dimensiones tanto positivas como negativas, y que está íntimamente relacionada con un contexto cultural, social y ambiental determinado (1).

    En este caso y a lo largo de este trabajo, nos centraremos en las personas que padecen o han padecido cáncer de mama. El desarrollo del mismo se basará en la búsqueda de bibliografía acerca del tema y en el aporte de escalas de valoración de la calidad de vida destinadas a dichos pacientes con el objetivo de valorar, ya sea de manera holística o concreta, los aspectos sociosanitarios y personales de las mismas.

    The concept of quality of life encompasses the evaluation of both physical, psychological, and social aspects, without neglecting at any time the symptomatic picture that the individual suffers due to their disease.

    Current definitions reveal criteria that affirm that quality of life refers to a subjective evaluation of the individual, with both positive and negative dimensions, and that it is closely related to a specific cultural, social, and environmental context.

    In this case and throughout this work, we will focus on people who suffer or have suffered from breast cancer. Its development will be based on the search for bibliography on the subject and on the contribution of quality-of-life assessment scales for these patients to assess, either holistically or specifically, the socio-health aspects and personal of them.
