    El presente estudio tiene como objetivo analizar el tema de la muerte en los poemas en prosa del libro La casa abandonada (1912), del escritor chileno Pedro Prado (1886-1952). La muerte se considera uno de los temas principales en su producción literaria, en general, y en sus poemas en prosa, en particular. Existe una abundante cantidad de estudios que versan sobre su producción poética y novelística, pero su prosa poética ha quedado en el olvido. Por eso mismo, este estudio arrojará luz sobre otras facetas de la ideología y de las formas de expresión existentes en la prosa poética de Pedro Prado; apoyándonos en las diferentes teorías de los métodos autobiográficos y fenomenológicos. Cabe señalar también que Pedro Prado no es sólo un maestro del soneto y uno de los iniciadores del verso libre en Chile, su país natal, sino que también es considerado el fundador del género de la prosa poética en todo el continente Latinoamericano.

    The present study aims to analyze the subject of death in the prose poems of the book The abandoned house of the Chilean writer Pedro Prado (1886-1952). Death is considered to be one of the main themes in his literary production, in general, and in his poetic prose, in particular. There is an abundance of studies that deal with his poetic and novel production, but his poetic prose has been forgotten. For this reason, this study will shed light on other facets of the ideology and forms of expression that exist in the poetic prose of Pedro Prado; making use of the different theories of autobiographical and phenomenological methods. It should also be noted that Pedro Prado is master of the sonnet and is considered one of the initiators of free verse in his country Chile. Also he is the founder of the genre of poetic prose throughout the continent of Latin America.
