Within this work we approach to a mollusc valve coming from the Argentine Chaco belonging to the Ethnographycal Museum of Neuchâtel (Switzerland) collections. With the study of the specific events happened and linked to the track of this object, we seek to reconstruct (at least partially) its biography. Our will is to use this study case to explore -from new angles- the relationships between objects and subjects, the connections between locations, and the links between institutions. Finally, with the analysis of the life itineraries of this shell, we want to highlight the polysemic, artificial and changing nature of the objects, particularly those contained in the museums.
