  • Resumen
    • The length-weight relationships (LWRs) of four demersal fish species were estimated using fishes collected over a seven-year period (2012–2019) from the commercial fish landing jetty of Chendering, Terengganu, Malaysia. These fishes had been caught in every fourth quarter of the year from the Terengganu water of South China Sea using trawl net (local name: pukat tunda) with 38 mm cod end mesh size at the depths ranging from 26 to 38 m. The value of exponent b ranged from 2.756 (Nemipterus nemurus) to 3.186 (Synodus tectus) while regression parameters r2 was between 0.964 and 0.979. The present study provides a new maximum length data for all four species: 19.5 cm for Upeneus guttatus (Day 1868), 25.5 cm for Nemipterus hexodon (Quoy and Gaimard 1824), 22.5 cm for Nemipterus nemurus (Bleeker 1857), and 21.6 cm for Synodus tectus Cressey 1981.
