Resumen de Embarazo de alto riesgo y muerte perinatal: ¿más y mejor información?

Un día, no hace mucho, tuve que ponerme al otro lado, ése en el que dejé de ser enfermera para convertirme en paciente. Descubrí a lo largo de todo mi embarazo cómo esa información bien transmitida, esa palabra amable que a veces nos falta, puede sosegar la angustia de aquél que sufre incluso cuando al final una parte de mí se fue con la muerte de mi hija.
Éste es el relato de todo mi proceso y desenlace y espero que ilustre para intentar mejorar nuestra actitud como sanitarios cuando una situación crítica aparece y se comparte.

One day, not long ago, I had to stop being a nurse to start being a patient. During my pregnancy, I found out that some simple and human attitudes practised by the sanitary staff are liable to diminish the patient anguish. One of these "simple attitudes" can be transmitting information in a clear, simple and -above all- kind way. This helped me a lot even in spite of the fact that my daughter finally died.
This is the story of the process of the perinatal death that I experienced. The aim of this article has been to help improving our attitude as sanitary staff when we have to face and share a critical medical situation.
