O interesse desse artigo será o de situar uma série de aspectos da linguagem d’A paixão segundo G.H em relação à questão da “coisa”. Partirei da afinidade entre a problemática da metafísica em Kant e a da procura da coisa na obra de Clarice Lispector. A caracterização da escrita de Clarice como tendo uma preocupação de ordem metafísica, irei sugerir, pressupõe essa afinidade. No entanto, ela também se afasta decisivamente, como se verá. No romance A paixão segundo G.H em particular um ponto central de interesse é a conexão feita ali entre a questão da “coisa” com a da metamorfose. Por fim, dado esse percurso do artigo, iremos propor uma visão alternativa para uma observação muito comum na literatura crítica sobre Clarice Lispector: a de que seus romances seriam “desarticulados”.

The purpose of this article will be putting some aspects of the literary form of The Passion According to G.H. in relation to the question of the “thing”. I will start from the affinity between the problematic of metaphysics in Kant and that of the search for thing in the work of Clarice Lispector. I will suggest that the characterization of Lispector’s writing as having a metaphysical concern presupposes this affinity.
However, it also departs from it decisively, as we shall see. In the novel The Passion According to G.H a central point of interest is the connection made there between the question of the “thing” with that of the metamorphosis. Finally, we will propose an alternative perspective for an observation that is frequent in the secondary literature on Clarice Lispector: that her novels would be “disjointed.
