¿Qué significa interpretar?: reflexiones sobre la acción interpretativa.

    La interpretación musical es una acción creativa que adquiere muchos matices y que presenta diversas implicaciones según los numerosos puntos de vista existentes. El objeto de este artículo es reflexionar acerca de los diferentes significados que se le pueden otorgar al verbo interpretar, tanto al estudiar su sentido semántico, y el de otros términos similares, como a nivel de comprensión conceptual. La acción interpretativa se encuentra enmarcada en un contexto tridimensional, en el cual el intérprete actúa como intermediario o vehículo entre el compositor y el público para convertir las ideas musicales en una realidad sonora presente.

    Aceptando las limitaciones de la notación, el músico tiene que trascender la partitura para conectar con el mensaje original que en ella se oculta, comprenderlo, hacerlo suyo, para así poder comunicarlo a través de su arte y que otros puedan disfrutarlo. Observaremos que, tras el enfoque desigual de compositores e intérpretes en cuanto a la labor interpretativa, existen multitud de visiones que enriquecen la percepción de la interpretación, hasta el punto de considerarla un acto de re-creación.

    Musical performance is a creative action that acquires many nuances and that has diverse implications depending on many existing points of view. The purpose of this article is to reflect on the different meanings that can be given to the verb to perform, both when studying its semantic meaning, and that of other similar terms, and at a conceptual understanding level.

    The performing action is framed in a three-dimensional context, in which the performer acts as an intermediary or vehicle between the composer and the audience to turn musical ideas into a present sound reality. Accepting the limitations of notation, the musician has to transcend the score to connect with the original message that is hidden in it, understand it, make it his own, in order to communicate it through his art so others can enjoy it. We will observe that, after the unequal approach of composers and performers regarding the performing task, there are a multitude of visions that enrich the perception of performance, to the point of considering it an act of re-creation.
