Though Adrian is aware of other tasks that must be ventured in the interpretation of scripture (277–79), the overall impression made by the Introduction is that their chief purpose is the handling of "peculiarities." Without making explicit what the governing narrative of scripture is, and especially scripture's account of the divine being, the Introduction remains at best incomplete.
