Resumen de Turismo cultural y sostenibilidad turística: mapeo del desempeño científico desde Web of Science

  El turismo cultural se ha comportado como una actividad promisora si se considera su no­table crecimiento a partir de la gran diversidad cultural mundial. Sabiendo que las motivacio­nes culturales tienden a representar el criterio de elección del destino turístico, es cada vez más importante enmarcar el turismo cultural de forma sostenible. Se presentan como obje­tivos generales de este estudio identificar las tendencias de crecimiento y analizar el aporte de la productividad científica en el campo de la sostenibilidad en el turismo cultural. Para lograr los objetivos propuestos, se realizó un análisis bibliométrico que permite medir y estudiar los índices de las producciones científicas sobre un tema de interés especí­fico. Para determinar la literatura, se utilizó la base de datos Web of Science a partir de sus principales colecciones. El análisis de los datos se realizó con el apoyo del software vosviewer. Los principales hallazgos revelan que las publicaciones científicas acerca de la sostenibilidad en el turismo cultural fueron más representativas en 2015. Además, España se encuentra en una posición destacada, pues está entre los países más productivos. Entre 2015 y 2019, pasos. Revista de Turismo y Patrimonio Cultural ha contribuido con el mayor número de publicaciones en el área. Finalmente, se identificaron siete temas de investigación: 1) ópticas sobre el turismo, 2) turismo cultural, 3) identidad, 4) percepción de los residentes, 5) percepción de los visi­tantes, 6) turismo cultural y capital social, y 7) actitudes de conservación cultural.

  Cultural tourism has performed its activi­ties promisingly considering its remarkable growth throughout the vast cultural diversity of the world. Knowing that cultural motiva­tions tend to represent important criteria for choosing a tourist destination, it becomes increasingly important to frame cultural tourism along the lines of sustainability. The general objective of this study is to identify growth trends and analyze the behavior of scientific productivity in the field of cultural tourism sustainability. In order to achieve the proposed objective, a bibliometric study was carried out which allows the measure­ment and surveying of scientific production indexes on a given topic of interest. To review the literature, the Web of Science database and its core collection were used. The main findings reveal that scientific productions about sustainability and cultural tourism grew in 2015. Spain is in a prominent posi­tion among the most productive countries. In the 2015-2019 period, pasos. Revista de Turismo y Patrimonio Cultural has contrib­uted with the largest number of publications in the area. Finally, seven research topics were identified including: perspectives on tourism, cultural tourism, identity, perception of residents, perception of visitors, cultural tourism and social capital, and attitudes of cultural conservation.
