    This paper seeks to confront theoretically and historically the complaints, symptoms and diagnoses, results of the research about the multi-causality of malaise and the illness of 32 teachers of the first letters in three schools of the municipal network of Olinda (Recife-PE / Brazil) with hysteria and Burnout Syndrome. He was introduced in the bibliography about the hysteria since Aristotle arriving at Freud and the Burnout Syndrome for our foundation. Linked to the understanding that the organization of work interferes in the process of pleasure and suffering, the need to understand this phenomenon of malaise and illness that removes professionals from practice and the need to create structural and practical strategies, through public policies, in order to meet, treat and prevent this malaise. Thus, this study seeks to identify if there is a relationship between the results obtained and the symptoms of hysteria and the predictors of burnout syndrome.

    O trabalho busca confrontar teórica e historicamente as queixas, sintomas e diagnósticos, resultados da pesquisa acerca das multicausalidades do mal-estar e do adoecimento de 32 professoras das primeiras letras em três escolas da rede municipal de Olinda (Recife-PE / Brasil) com a histeria e a Síndrome de Burnout. Foi adentrado na bibliografia acerca da histeria desde Aristóteles chegando a Freud e da Síndrome de Burnout para nossa fundamentação. Atrelados à compreensão de que a organização do trabalho interfere no processo do prazer e do sofrimento, é perceptível a necessidade de compreender este fenômeno de mal-estar e adoecimento que afasta os profissionais da prática e, a necessidade da criação de estratégias estruturais e práticas, através de políticas públicas, visando atender, tratar e prevenir este mal-estar. Assim, este trabalho busca identificar se há relação entre os resultados obtidos e os sintomas da histeria e os preditores da síndrome de burnout.
