El artículo ofrece una síntesis del pensamiento antropológico de Agustín, señalando su cambio metodológico de investigación, que se producía después de su elección al episcopado, y también la incidencia del platonismo en el «hombre agustiniano». En tercer lugar, se pone de manifiesto su comprensión de la relación hombre-Dios, a partir del binomio «libertad-gracia». El artículo sostiene que media una interferencia recíproca entre estos tres elementos; de ahí que todos ellos, considerados conjuntamente, pueden mostrar las líneas de su pensamiento antropológico.

The article offers a synthesis of Augustine's anthropological thought, pointing out the change he makes in the way of researching after his election to the episcopate, as well as the importance of Platonism in the building of the "Augustinian man". Thirdly, the article presents his understanding of the God-man relationship, which is made clear from the couple "freedom-grace". The article affirms that there is a reciproca! interference between these three elements, so that, taken together, they can provide the essential lines of Augustine's anthropological thought.
