El presente artículo analiza la bomba como identidad, género musical e instrumento. Revisamos cómo la bomba ha ido cambiando y su correlación con el contexto social del pueblo afrochoteño, tanto en Quito como en el valle del Chota-Mira. Se hace un análisis en dos niveles: identitario y musicológico, encontrando la relación entre ambos.

The article analyzes the bomba as identity, musical genre and instrument. We review how the bomba has been changing and its correlation with the afrochoteño pueblo social context, both in Quito and the Chota-Mira Valley. An analysis is made in two levels: identity and musicological, finding out the relationship between them.
