    En la I Asamblea Regional Veterinaria de Galicia, celebrada en la Escuela de Veterinaria de Santiago, del 2 al 4 de octubre de 1915, promovida por el Claustro de la Escuela y el Colegio de Veterinarios de Pontevedra, el único existente en Galicia por esas fechas, se acordó “Constituir la Federación Veterinaria de Galicia y organizar todos los colegios Veterinarios de las cuatro provincias gallegas, a fin de perseguir el intrusismo que campea en esta región”. El Colegio Provincial de Veterinarios de Lugo, fue refundado en 1915 bajo la Presidencia del insigne veterinario D. Niceto José García Armendáritz (1884- 1934), existiendo pruebas de que fue en 1918 cuando se iniciaron los trámites para ser declarado Colegio Oficial.

    At the I Regional Veterinary Assembly of Galicia, hold at the Veterinary College of Santiago, from October 2nd to October 4th 1915, promoted by the College staff and the Veterinary Association of Pontevedra, the only one at the time in Galicia, they agreed to constitute the Veterinary Federation of Galicia and organize every Veterinary Associations from the four galician provinces “in order to prosecute the unqualified practice that roams freely in this región”. The provincial Veterinary Association of Lugo was refounded under the presidency of the distinguished and departed vet D. Niceto José García Armendáritz (1884-1934), existing evidences of its functioning in 1916, being in 1918 when procedures were initiated for it to be declared Official Association.
