  Oruga y Mir de Ponts una pareja hasta ahora poco estudiada, fueron el tronco de un linaje importante durante el siglo XI. Al servicio de los condes de Urgel y de Barcelona, tuvieron un papel destacado en su política de expansión. a partir del cargo vicarial de Mir, sus hijos acapararon un buen númeo de castillos en la zona fronteriza, que se extendían sobre todo por el condado de Urgel, pero también por los condados de Berga y de Manresa, y llegaban incluso hasta la Conca de Barberà y la Baja Ribagorça. En sus primeros años , a Oruça la encontramos vinculada a las posesiones que sus progenitores le legaron en el Bages, que al final cedieron al monasterio de Sant Benet. Esta dama sería muy probablemente una descendiente de Sala, fundador del manasterio. Poco tiempo después de quedarse viuda, Oruça se casó en segundas nupcias con el consejero de la condesa de Barcelona y fundador del monasterio de Sant Miquel del Fai, Gombau de Besora. A su hijo mayor, Pere Mir, el conde de Urgel le concedió el castillo de Agramunt al ser conquistado, y otro hijo, Ramon Mir, ostentó el cargo de senescal de los condes de Barcelona

  Oruça and Mir of Ponts, a couple who hasn't been studied up until now, became the trunk of an important lineage during the 11th century. Serving the Counts of Urgell and Barcelona, they played an outstanding role in their policy of expansion. since being granted a position as vicar of Mir, their heirs started to hoard up quite a good number of castles in the bordr area. Their feudal estates stretched mainly over the earldom of Urgell, but also over the earldoms of Berga and Manresa and even extended as far as the Conca del Barberà and the Baixa Ribagorça regions. In the earlyyears, we see Oruça bound to the territories inherited from her parents in the region of Bages, wich the finally surrendered to the monastery of Sant Benet. Besides, this lady would most probably be a descendant of Sal·la, founder of the monastery. Early after she widowed, Oruça married secondly Gombau de Besora, Countess of Barcelona's counselor and founder of the monastery of Sant Miquel del Fai. To Pere Mir, her eldest son, the Count of Urgell granted, once conquered, the castle of Agramunt. Another son, Ramon Mir, held the position of seneschal confered by the Counts of Barcelona
