Resumen de Turismo nas fazendas imperiais do vale do Paraiba Fluminense, Brasil

  Este artigo apresenta os principais resultados de pesquisa exploratório-descritiva sobre o turismo cultural nas fazendas históricas do Ciclo do Café no Vale do Paraíba no estado do Rio de Janeiro, realizada no primeiro semestre de 2015. Investiga-se o patrimônio histórico-cultural como atração turística, a fim de caracterizar os serviços e produtos, analisar as técnicas de interpretação desse patrimônio e discutir as modalidades de turismo nesse espaço rural. Aborda o patrimônio cultural e o turismo no espaço rural, a partir da sua compreensão contemporânea, que leva à interpretação patrimonial e suas técnicas de realce no âmbito do turismo. Seleciona uma amostra de 27 fazendas imperiais, cujos dados foram coletados em sítios oficiais e institucionais, além de documentos e entrevista aberta com o representante do Instituto Preservale e contato com estudiosos da região. Compara os resultados com pesquisa anterior realizada em 2006 e verifica que a oferta de serviços e produtos turísticos aumentou em quantidade e em diversidade, reunindo hospedagem, visitação, eventos e outros, nos quais se aplicam a história viva e a ambientação histórica. A casa sede, sua arquitetura e acervo de época ainda é a principal atração na visita guiada, mas se complementa com outras atividades nesta e em outras edificações e nas áreas abertas da propriedade. A modalidade turística divulgada é na maioria das fazendas a de turismo cultural, sem ligação ao turismo no espaço rural, que mais recentemente tem sido tema de projetos e ações que buscam maior integração do patrimônio cultural e ambiental no turismo da região.

  This article presents the main results of an exploratory and descriptive research held in the first half of 2015. It focusses on cultural tourism in historic farms of the Coffee Cycle period, in the Paraíba Valley, Rio de Janeiro state. This study investigates the historical and cultural heritage as touristic attraction, aiming to characterize services and products, analyze the techniques to interpret this heritage and discuss the types of tourism in these rural areas. It addresses the cultural heritage and tourism in rural areas, from a contemporary point of view, which leads to patrimonial interpretation and enhancement techniques within the tourism field. Culling a sample of 27 imperial farms and collecting data from official and institutional sites, documents and public interview with the representative of Preservale Institute and scholars of the region, this article compares its results with a previous survey conducted in 2006 and concludes that the offer of tourism products and services has increased in quantity and diversity, including hosting, visitation, events and other services, where living history and historical ambiance are taken into account. The main house, its architecture and antique collection are still the main attractions on the guided tour, being added by other activities in this and other buildings, and in the property’s outdoors. The type of tourism marketed is, in most of the farms, linked to cultural tourism, with any highlight at its rural localization, which recently has been the subject of projects and actions that seek greater integration of cultural and environmental heritage tourism in the region.
