La evolución conceptual del ateísmo, sus dificultades en el siglo actual y el renacimiento del teísmo

    Comenzamos clarificando la confusión, hoy extendida, entre religión y teísmo. A continuación, mostramos la esencial diferencia que hay entre el clásico argumento de la existencia de Dios basado en el orden del mundo y dos propuestas actuales. Éstas van en el mismo sentido y también se fundan en la naturaleza, aunque una de ellas se basa en las características contingentes de algunas entidades físicas, los seres vivos, y la otra en algunas peculiaridades del universo, también contingentes, que hacen posible la vida. En tercer lugar, desarrollamos sintéticamente una de estas propuestas, a saber, la teoría del diseño inteligente. Finalmente, presentamos una sugerencia sobre cómo se podría avanzar en la elucidación del principio inteligente de la vida.

    We start clarifying the today spreading confusion between the notions of religionand theism. Then, we expose the essential difference between the classical argument of the existence of God based on the physical order and two recent proposals. These go in the same sense and are also based on nature, but one of them is supported by the contingent traits of some entities, the living beings, and the another by those peculiarities of the universe, also contingent, that make life possible. Thirdly, we develop one of these proposals that is known as the theory ofintelligent design. Finally, we present a suggestion on how it would be possible to advance in order to elucidate the nature of the intelligent principle of life.
