Eficiencia de la figura profesional enfermero-técnico en radiodiagnóstico en el área quirúrgica

    La enfermería en el quirófano posee unas competencias claramente establecidas y complejas. Es habitual el uso de escopia intraoperatoria, siendo, el responsable de esta, un Técnico Superior de Imagen para el Diagnóstico del centro que se traslada temporalmente al área quirúrgica. A pesar de que en el ámbito público no es legal el desempeño mixto de funciones, la creación de esta figura si fuera posible en centros privados. Sin embargo, se desconoce cómo podría influir esto en la eficiencia para el centro y la seguridad para el paciente. Mediante el presente trabajo se pretendió demostrar la rentabilidad económica y la reducción de tiempos quirúrgicos que derivarían de la existencia de una figura profesional con doble titulación, y su repercusión sobre el paciente. Para ello, se realizaron 19 mediciones cronometradas, obteniendo el tiempo medio empleado por el TSID en el quirófano (66,39 min) y el tiempo durante el cual se encuentra inactivo (10,11 min). Se calculó el número de las pruebas radiológicas más habituales que es posible realizar durante este periodo. Económicamente, se demostró en base al salario base de un TSID del Hospital Povisa, que en un supuesto de 100 cirugías el centro ahorraría 1901 euros. En conclusión, se demostró que la figura profesional con doble titulación mejora la eficiencia del procedimiento y la seguridad del paciente. Se discutió en base a la escasa y heterogénea literatura publicada.

    There is complex and clearly stablished competence for nursing in surgery rooms. It is common the use of intraoperative scope there, and the professional in charge of this task is a superior image technician who is moved to the surgery room temporarily. Although in the public medical field is not legal to develop this kind of multitasking technician, it could be possible in the private one. However, it is unknown how this fact could affect to the medical center efficiency and the patient safety.

    With this thesis I would like to demonstrate the economical profitability, the time saved in surgery and how this would affect to the patient when having a double titled professional in the surgery room. In order to prove these facts, it has been done 19 timed measurement which have showed the average active time of the TSID on the surgery room (66.39 mins), and the inactivity period (10.11min). It has been calculated the most common radiological tests which could be performed during this period. Economically talking, it has been showed that based on the TSID basic salary in “Povisa Hospital”, the center would save 1.901 euros every 100 surgeries.

    To sum all this up, it is shown that the presence of the double titled professional improves the efficiency in the procedures and the patient’s safety, and it will be discussed based on the scarce and heterogeneous literary publications in this field.
