Resumen de La transversalidad en la Universidad Estatal a Distancia de Costa Rica, desde su marco institucional

En el presente artículo se expone el origen de la transversalidad asumida por la UNED, desde el año 2000, y los acuerdos que alrededor del tema han sumado a este reto institucional, lo que ha conformado el planteamiento de los ejes transversales desde un marco teórico y metodológico hasta la actualidad. Es así como, desde la técnica de revisión documental, se procede a ubicar y analizar la información que permitiera determinar, desde sus orígenes, el marco institucional que sustenta y orienta la incorporación de los ejes transversales en la UNED, respaldo que posibilita su implementación, objetivo que surge desde una genuina preocupación porque se logre visibilizar las acciones que se han llevado a cabo en este plano o sustento institucional, para que la transversalidad logre su fin último: permear en la formación profesional y, más allá de este tiempo y espacio, en el desempeño profesional. Se destaca, como principales hallazgos, que la transversalidad fue asumida por la UNED desde su acuerdo y se ha mantenido en su marco estratégico, político y normativo hasta la actualidad. Además, se presentan documentos en el ámbito curricular que figuran como únicos orientadores para la implementación de los ejes transversales. Los documentos revisados evidencian estar limitados en los recursos teóricos y, sobre todo, metodológicos que plantean, por el tipo de documento que representan.

This article exposes the starting point of mainstreaming assumed by UNED since the year 2000 and the agreements that around this subject have added to this institutional challenge, which has shaped until the present day the statement of the cross-cutting themes from a theoretical and methodological framework. This is how, thru the documental review technique we proceed to locate and analyze the information that would allow to determine from its beginnings the institutional framework that supports and guides the incorporation of mainstreaming in UNED.
This framework enables its implementation; this objective comes from a genuine concern to make visible the actions that have been carried out in this matter or the institutional support that mainstreaming requires to achieve its ultimate goal, to permeate into the professional education and transcend beyond space and time, into professional performance. It is valuable to point out, that one of the main outcomes is that mainstreaming has always being a part of UNED from its foundations and has remained in its strategic, politic and normative framework until present day; it is also important to note, the existence of documents in UNED’s curriculum related that figure as the sole orienting criteria for implementation of the cross-cutting themes (Mainstreaming). The studied documents, for the kind of document they represent, reveal that the theoretical and above all methodological resources proposed are limited in its content.
