  • Resumen
    • The Institution has led the professional engineering community in the promotion and development of CPD over the past 20 years, culminating in the introduction of mandatory CPD reporting in 2014.

Mandatory CPD reporting has subsequently also been introduced by the Engineering Council in the UK, and while the Institution can be proud to ‘set the tone’ within the engineering community, it cannot rest on its laurels.

Members are asked to demonstrate their commitment to structural safety and should now aim to ensure that at least six hours of their recommended 30 hours of CPD each year are related to structural safety. You will be asked to confi rm structural safety-related CPD on your CPD submission.

This article highlights the benefi ts to be gained from this commitment.
