Resumen de II. Community and Restorative Justice

Tim Chapman

  • Three areas of the research that the author has been involved in will be used to support the argument that community can play a critical role in restorative processes designed to address the harm that people do to others. Firstly the youth conference model adopted in Northern Ireland will be described. Then the findings in Northern Ireland of the ALTERNATIVE research project into restorative responses to conflicts in intercultural contexts will be outlined. Finally the holistic policy framework developed in A European Model of Restorative Justice with Children and YoungPeople published by the International Juvenile Justice Observatory will offer guidance into how European countries can activate community in restorative justice.
