    La Biblioteca del Archivo Histórico Nacional pertenece a la RBAE (Red de Bibliotecas de Archivos Estatales) y es una biblioteca especializada, tanto por su cantidad como por su calidad, ya que custodia más de 30000 volúmenes de Historia, Archivística y otras ciencias afines, que resultan sumamente útiles tanto para los archiveros como para los investigadores. Además, tiene unos 300 títulos de publicaciones periódicas y una importante colección de folletos. Pero, sobre todo, destaca por su extraordinario fondo antiguo, procedente en su mayor parte del convento de Uclés. Es decir, el fondo moderno de la Biblioteca constituye al mismo tiempo un instrumento de trabajo para el quehacer archivístico y una herramienta de apoyo a la investigación, y el fondo antiguo, aparte de formar parte del patrimonio bibliográfico español, es de gran interés para los historiadores del libro y la lectura. En este trabajo se pretende esbozar una breve historia de la Biblioteca

    The National Historical Archive Library belongs to the RBAE (Network of State Archive Libraries). It is a special library, both in terms of quantity and quality. On the one hand, it holds more than 30,000 volumes on history, archives and other related sciences, which are extremely useful for archivists and researchers. It also has some 300 titles of periodicals and an important collection of pamphlets. On the other hand, it stands out for its extraordinary rare and early printed books collection, most of which comes from the convent of Uclés. The Library's modern collection is both a working instrument for archival work and a tool to support research, while the rare books[1] collection, apart from forming part of Spain's bibliographic heritage, is of great interest to book historians.
