Resumen de La asistencia infantil en torno a la catedral de Palencia (1800-1810)

En este trabajo se va a analizar el fenómeno de la exposición infantil desarrollado en la ciudad de Palencia a lo largo de la década 1800-1810 a través de la documentación hallada en el Archivo Catedralicio de dicha ciudad, institución encargada de custodiar la documentación concerniente al ya desaparecido Hospital de San Antolín y San Bernabé (institución asistencial dependiente de la Catedral encargada del cuidado de enfermos y expósitos). A través de los libros de este hospital se analizarán el número de nodrizas que criaban en el cuarto, su salario, su estado civil e incluso las ropas que portaban los niños en el momento de entrar. En torno a esa catedral se generaron toda una serie de relaciones devocionales, asistenciales e incluso laborales, pues por ejemplo el nodrizaje no dejaba de ser un oficio.

In this paper the phenomenon of the children’s exhibition developed in the city of Palencia during the 1800-1810 decade will be analyzed through the documentation found in the Cathedral Archive of that city, institution responsible for guarding the documentation concerning the already disappeared Hospital of San Antolín and San Bernavé (welfare institution dependent on the Cathedral in charge of the care of sick and exposed). The books of this hospital will analyze the number of nurses who raised in the room, their salary, their marital status and even the clothes that the children were wearing at the time of entering. Around this cathedral a whole series of devotional, welfare and even labor relations were generated, since for example the nurse was still an occupation.
