Greenovia millennium (crassulacea): Una nueva especie y sus híbridos. Tenerife, Islas Canarias

    Se describe e ilustra una nueva especie, Greenovia millennium Arango sp. nov., un endemismo exclusivo del macizo de Teno en el noroeste de Tenerife. Se aportan datos sobre su morfología, ecología, distribución, estado de conservación y sus principales amenazas. Se realiza el diagnóstico diferencial de la nueva especie con los otros cuatro taxones que constituyen el género Greenovia, especialmente con G. dodrantalis de la península de Anaga en el noreste de Tenerife, con la que hasta ahora se había confundido; se adjunta una clave para diferenciar las cinco especies del género Greenovia, y un mapa U.T.M. con la distribución de G. millennium y G. dodrantalis. Se discute porqué la fusión de los géneros Greenovia y Aeonium fue una decisión poco afortunada. Se designa como holotypus del nombre G. millennium Arango un pliego del Herbario TFC, y se consigna un paratypus en el Herbario LPA. Por último, se describe e ilustra xGreenonium rochae, un nuevo híbrido intergenérico fruto del cruce natural entre G. millennium y A. urbicum subsp. meridionale, y se revisa la sistemática de dos híbridos intergenéricos previamente descritos, en los que G. millennium es uno de los progenitores.

    A new species, Greenovia millennium Arango sp. nov. is described and illustrated, an exclusive endemism of the Teno massif in the northwest of Tenerife. Data on its morphology, ecology, distribution, conservation status and main traits are provided. A differentiating diagnosis of the new species with the other four taxa that form the genus Greenovia is done, especially with G. dodrantalis from the Anaga peninsula in the northeast of the island, with which until now it has been confused. A key for differentiate the five species of the genus Greenovia is attached, along with a U.T.M. map with the distribution of G.

    millennium and G. dodrantalis. The reason why uniting the genres Greenovia and Aeonium it was an unfortunate decision is discussed. A sheet deposited in the TFC Herbarium is designated as holotypus of the name G. millennium Arango, and paratypus material is consigned in LPA Herbarium. Finally, xGreenonium rochae, a new intergeneric hybrid, the result from the natural crossing between G.

    millennium and A. urbicum subsp. meridionale, is described and illustrated; the systematics of the two intergeneric hybrids already described, in which G. millennium is one of the parents, is reviewed.
