El sentido último de la noción hegeliana de espíritu es sintetizar y mediar entre la metafísica del acto y la ejecutividad, que prima el devenir, y la metafísica de la representación y la objetivación, que prima la conciencia. Esto significa además integrar identidad y diferencia. Entender el pensar como representación objetivadora y el devenir como algo que no supone presencia para sí, implica, primero, impedir la objetivación de la ejecutividad, y segundo, hacer imposible la síntesis entre aquellas dos metafísicas. Pero el espíritu hegeliano ontologiza y dinamiza el pensar, lo desintelectualiza. Así, le quita al pensar cartesiano su carácter objetivador y le incorpora la Tathandlung fichteana, lo que finalmente permite aquella síntesis.

The ultimate meaning of the Hegelian notion of spirit is to synthesize and mediate between the metaphysics of act and performativeness, which emphasizes becoming, and the metaphysics of representation and objectivation, which emphasizes consciousness. This also means to unite identity and difference. To understand thinking as objectivating representation and becoming as something that does not involve presence for itself, implies, first, preventing the objectivation of performativeness, and second, making the synthesis between those two metaphysics impossible. But the Hegelian spirit ontologizes and dynamizes thinking, it deintellectualizes it. Thus, it takes away from the Cartesian thinking of his objectivating character and incorporates him the fichtean Tathandlung, which finally allows that synthesis.
