¿Es posible la intraducibilidad entre lenguajes? Consideraciones en torno al debate Kuhn-Davidson

    El artículo discute la posibilidad o imposibilidad de que exista una intraducibilidad parcial entre lenguajes cuyos sistemas de categorías léxicas son diferentes. Para ello se reformula el argumento kuhneano del principio de no solapamiento entre categorías taxonómicas sobre la tesis de base de que cada lenguaje requiere que sus hablantes acepten ciertas oraciones (puntos fijos) como condición necesaria para ser hablantes competentes. La necesidad de no admitir otras oraciones incompatibles con esos puntos fijos será lo que impida la traducción.

    The article discusses the posibility or imposibility of partial failure of translatability between languages which have different systems of lexical categories. For that purpose we reformulate Kuhn's argument of not overlaping principle between taxonomic categories basing it on the thesis that every language requires from its speakers the acceptance of certain sentences (fixed points) in order to be qualified speakers. The necessity of not accepting sentences which are incompatible with those fixed points will prevent the possibility of translation.
