Resumen de Honras fúnebres en Orán por la muerte de Carlos III: un túmulo del ingeniero militar Manuel Zappino

  Durante la Edad Moderna las celebraciones religiosas y civiles constituyeron un medio esencial para la población en aras de evadirse de los padecimientos diarios, con mayor sentido en las plazas españolas norteafricanas debido a su contexto hostil. Por otra parte, la escenificación del poder que estas celebraciones representan no dejaron de ser una útil herramienta para consolidar Ia estructura vigente encarnada en la monarquía. De ahí, que se aborde el aparato conmemorativo luctuoso con motivo de las honras fúnebres del rey Carlos Ill en Orán. Las ceremonias se desarrollaron en la iglesia mayor capitalizadas en un esplendoroso túmulo a ejecutar por el ingeniero militar Manuel Zappino, de cuya forma, simbolismo y aparato litúrgico partirá el presente trabajo.

  During the Modern Age the religious and civil ceremonias constituted a esential means for the poblation for the sake of evade of the diary ailment, with more meaning in Spanish North African squares because of its hostile context. Furthermore, the sign of power in this celebrations represented did not stop being a useful tool to consolidate the current structure embodied in the Monarchy. From there, we will adress the memorial and sad machine on the occasion of the funeral rites of Carlos Ill in Oran. The ceremonies developed in the main church led by a radiant burial mound executed by the military engineer Manuel Zappino, whose form, symbolism and liturgical instruments will emanate the present work.
