1998 Consitution has played an important role within the history of republican Italy on guaranteeing national unity and the gradual implementation of fundamental rights. Today Italy enjoys a constitution based on broad popular consent and supported by its neutral constitutional authorities. On the other hand this constitution also sustein political texture even more fragmented and incapable of addressing long-term planifications after the tradizional paarties wich made up the constitution ended.
