    En el presente trabajo se analiza la figura del amparo institucional del Consejo General del Poder Judicial como instrumento en defensa de la independencia judicial de jueces y magistrados. Concretamente se estudia y comenta su anclaje legal, su desarrollo reglamentario y las resoluciones del Tribunal Supremo que han delimitado sus perfiles. Con ello, el lector tendrá una base jurídica y teórica suficiente para abordar el análisis exhaustivo de los pronunciamientos del Consejo General del Poder Judicial al respecto, en una segunda parte de este estudio.

    This paper analyzes the figure of the institutional protection of the General Council of the Judiciary as an instrument in defense of the judicial independence of judges and magistrates. Specifically, its legal anchorage, its regulatory development and the Supreme Court resolutions that have delimited its profiles are studied and discussed. With this, the reader will have a sufficient legal and theoretical basis to address the exhaustive analysis of the pronouncements of the General Council of the Judiciary in this regard, in a second part of this study.
