  Son poucos os testemuños que deixaron constancia do folclore vivo da comarca das Mariñas a principios do século XX e un deles enmárcase no asilo de anciáns construído polos Irmáns García Naveira. Dende este fito achegarémonos ó folclore vivo mariñán e repararemos nas súas músicas, nos seus instrumentos e nos aspectos máis sociais. Xa neste momento comezaban as mostras folclorísticas e Betanzos non foi alleo a elas, polo que se buscará poñer en valor a interpretación da ribeirana nunha época na que os contextos e as formas nas que se interpretaba o folclore estaban mudando

  There are few proofs of alive folklore in As Mariñas region in the early decades of the 20th century, and one of them took place at the nursing home built by the García Naveira brothers. Taking that event as a starting point, we will examine the living folklore of this area, focusing on the music, the instruments, and the social issues. Folkloric displays started to happen already during this period, also in Betanzos; thus, we will highlight the importance of the “ribeirana” dance in a time in which the folklore context and shapes were changing.
