    • Between Ancient and Modern: the Decoration of the Facades of Burgos Palaces between the 15th and 16th Centuries The decoration of the Burgos facades develops from simple and essentials forms of the 15th century, still medieval, to the ornament that appears at the arrival of the first Renaissance in the 16th century. The civil Late Gothic facades are usually simple, with the heraldry as the single dec- orative motif and, in the best ones, moldings and geometry. From the Renaissance, the facades begin to get complicated, to fill with decoration and to extend towards to the top and towards their sides.

With this paper we want to make an analysis of the evolution of the facades of Burgos palaces and manor houses, analyze the foreign influences chosen by stonemasons and patrons.
