  • The Windows of the Medieval House. Typology, Location, and Chronology of the Mallorcan Examples This study focuses on 102 large windows, entered in the research project’s digital catalogue, found in Gothic houses in Mallorca. In this paper, they are interpreted using data relating to their morphology, location in the properties and chronology. After commenting on two examples whose singular features set them apart from typical models, the paper focuses on individual types: biforae, finestres coronelles (tall mullion windows with slender columns), other varieties of mullion windows, cross-windows, ogee windows and rectangular ones. New examples are presented and studied, the possible models used as the basis for each are established, the incidence of non-Mallorcan materials is determined in relation to local makeups and designs, and conclusions are drawn from a joint examination of analyses of the windows and properties in which they were located.
