Las fronteras éticas de las aplicaciones biotecnológicas

    El presente artículo, trata de reflexionar sobre las implicancias éticas y porque no decirlo morales que comporta el progreso biotecnológico en la vida del ser humano y por ende el impacto que se produce en la cultura, en la sociedad. Para ello es necesario que se tome conciencia de lugar de la importancia que tiene la ética en la sociedad, solo reconociendo el verdadero valor y de la real dignidad que posee la persona la técnica y la ciencia tendrán el lugar adecuado y con ello las fronteras de la ética en las aplicaciones biotecnológicas serán claras.

    Hoy en día es de suma importancia hacer esta reflexión ya que el avance científico y técnico se da con mayor rapidez y una vez descubierto,  el siguiente paso sería aplicarlo, el detalle es que esa aplicación no se hace en algo, sino en “alguien”, razón por la cual el diálogo y debate ético, debe estar regido fundamentalmente por los principios: del respeto a la vida humana y  de autodeterminación de la persona humana; además de las normas, en cuestión de la investigación científica y en el cuidado de la salud radica en la dignidad humana; esta dignidad del hombre radica en su ser personal, posee entendimiento, voluntad, libertad y conciencia de sus actos, autodeterminación, autorrealización y autoconciencia.

    Teniendo en cuenta estos principios y sus normas se podrá emitir juicios éticos en temas de actualidad como son todo lo referente a la manipulación genética en la que entran en juego la manipulación de los datos genéticos, la terapia génica, los productos biológicos de uso terapéutico con la correspondiente farmacología que se va desarrollando, la clonación, los embriones híbridos, los alimentos transgénicos, entre otros. Por otra parte tenemos los temas en cuanto al medio ambiente y su ecología para combatir, reducir y eliminar la contaminación ambiental y que de una u otra forma puede afectar la vida del ser humano.

    This article, tries to reflect on the ethical implications and why not say it moral that involves biotechnological progress in the life of the human being and therefore the impact that occurs in culture, in society. For this, it is necessary to become aware of the importance of ethics in society, only by recognizing the true value and the real dignity that the person possesses, technique and science will have the right place and with it the borders of Ethics in biotechnological applications will be clear. Nowadays it is of the utmost importance to make this reflection since the scientific and technical progress is made more quickly and once discovered, the next step would be to apply it, the detail is that this application is not made in something, but in “someone” , which is why ethical dialogue and debate must be governed fundamentally by the principles: respect for human life and self-determination of the human person; In addition to the rules, in the matter of scientific research and health care lies in human dignity; This dignity of man lies in his personal being, has understanding, will, freedom and awareness of his actions, self-determination, self-realization and self-awareness. Taking into account these principles and their rules, ethical judgments may be issued on current issues such as everything related to genetic manipulation in which the manipulation of genetic data, gene therapy, biological products for therapeutic use come into play with the corresponding pharmacology that is being developed, cloning, hybrid embryos, transgenic foods, among others. On the other hand we have the issues regarding the environment and its ecology to combat, reduce and eliminate environmental pollution and that in one way or another can affect the life of the human being.
