    El artículo aborda las investigaciones que Yamandú Acosta ha elaborado en torno a la posibilidad de justificar y rescatar (o producir) un sujeto latinoamericano. En virtud de que el filósofo uruguayo sistematiza muchas de las ideas latinoamericanas que se han destilado acerca del topos del sujeto latinoamericano, el artículo elucida, junto a él, el dilema constructivista/realista que aqueja la discusión: ¿debemos rescatar alguna sujetividad latinoamericana reprimida para emanciparnos, o acaso asumir la tarea de constituir una? El dilema encubre varios escollos, y el artículo intenta iluminarlos, mostrando los aportes y desafíos que abrigan las propuestas de Acosta

    The article addresses the research that Yamandú Acosta has developed around the possibility of justifying and rescuing (or producing) a Latin American subject. By virtue of the fact that the Uruguayan philosopher systematizes many of the Latin American ideas that have been revealed about the topos of the Latin American subject, the article elucidates the constructivist/realist dilemma that besets the discussion: should we rescue some repressed Latin American subjectivity to emancipate us or, perhaps, assume the task of constituting one? The dilemma covers several obstacles, and the article tries to illuminate them by showing the contributions and challenges that Acosta’s proposal has.
